Benefit Description
This benefit applies during the accumulation phase. The death benefit will be the greater of the GMDB or the policy's current value. If the policy owner predeceases the annuitant during the accumulation phase, the death benefit will equal the policy's cash value, adjusted for surrender charges. For annuitants aged 0-70 at issue, the Guaranteed Minimum Death Benefit (GMDB) rider automatically included in the policy at no additional charge. For annuitants aged 71-80, the GMDB rider is optional and subject to an additional fee.
