Benefit Description
Available only in conjunction with ING Joint LifePay Plus. Upon death of owner, benefit will be greater of - 1) death benefit applicable under contract, or 2) ING Joint LifePay Plus - Death Benefit. Death benefit base depends on when benefit is added to contract, if benefit is added at contract issue, benefit base equals initial purchase payment, thereafter, contract value. Benefit base will reduced by dollar amount of any withdrawals for payment of third-party investment advisory fees before Lifetime Withdrawal Phase begins, and for any withdrawals that are not excess withdrawals, after Lifetime Withdrawal Phase begin, including withdrawals for payment of third-party investment advisory fees. If withdrawals are excess withdrawals, death benefit will reduce in same proportion. If ING Joint LifePay Plus rider enters Lifetime Automatic Periodic Benefit Status, each periodic payment will reduce benefit base by dollar amount until earlier of - 1) benefit reduced to zero, or 2) annuitant's death.
