Basic Death Benefit

Available during the accumulation phase, the death benefit upon death of the owner/annuitant is greater of the 1) account value; or 2) minimum guaranteed surrender value. If the death occurs, prior to the end of the index term, issuer will credit any applicable interest to the account value. Payment of death benefit may be taken in 1) lump sum immediately; or 2) account value will be then reallocated to the Fixed Rate strategy as on the date of death.
