Basic Death Benefit

Available during accumulation phase. Upon death of annuitant prior to 86th birthday, benefit will be greatest of - 1) contract value, 2) total purchase payments adjusted for withdrawals, or 3) highest contract value calculated on any 5th contract anniversary, increased by purchase payments made and reduced for withdrawals, thereafter, benefit will be equal to contract value.
