Basic Death Benefit - Option Package III

Available during accumulation phase. Upon death of owner or annuitant, benefit will be greatest of - 1) standard death benefit, 2) contract value, 3) return of premium, or 4) Annual Ratchet Death Benefit. Standard Death Benefit equals total purchase payments plus premium credit added after or within 12 months prior to death, reduced for withdrawals. Return of premium equals purchase payments made, excluding any premium credit, reduced for withdrawals. Annual Ratchet Enhanced Death Benefit equals highest contract value on each contract anniversary, prior to age 90, increased by new purchase payments made and premium credits, reduced for withdrawals. Owner may transfer from one option package to another on each contract anniversary.
