Annual Stepped-Up Death Benefit

Available during accumulation phase. Upon death of Annuitant, benefit will be greatest of 1) Contract Value; 2) Total Purchase Payments adjusted for withdrawals; or 3) Step-Up Death Benefit amount. On each Contract Anniversary until Annuitant's age 86, Step-Up Death Benefit amount will be reset to greater of 1) Contract Value on that Anniversary; or 2) Death Benefit as of last preceding Anniversary, adjusted for Purchase Payments or withdrawals.
