Basic Death Benefit

Available during accumulation phase. Upon death of owner, benefit will be greatest of - 1) contract value, 2) return of purchase payments value, or 3) surrender value. Return of Purchase Payments Value is equal to initial purchase payments, increased by subsequent purchase payments and reduced for withdrawals. Upon change in ownership or spousal continuation if new owner is age 85 or older, benefit will be greater of - 1) contract value, or 2) surrender value.
