Basic Death Benefit

Available during accumulation phase. Upon death of owner and annuitant, benefit will be greater of - 1) account value; or 2) return of purchase payments amount. On the issue date, return of purchase payments amount is equal to account value. On each subsequent valuation day, until the date of death of annuitant, return of purchase payments amount is increased by any purchase payments made on the current valuation day and, reduced by the effect of withdrawals made on the current valuation day.
