The Allianz 222+ is a limited flexible premium deferred index annuity with a market value adjustment. The minimum single premium is $20,000 for qualified and non-qualified money. Additional premium payments can be accepted through the first 18 months of the contract. 10% of the paid premium may be withdrawn after the contract anniversary following the most recent premium payment. Surrender charges are 10 years in duration (may vary with state availability); and are waived in the event of annuitization, death, or annuitization of the accumulation value is available if confined to a hospital or nursing home. This additional nursing home / hospital benefit is also an option at no additional cost. The PIV (Protected Income Value) rider provides guaranteed lifetime income withdrawals based on the protected income value after 10 contract years. The bonus is a Premium bonus on the PIV and the interest bonus is an Interest bonus credited to the PIV. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal additional tax.
