The EmergingEdge is a single premium deferred index annuity with a market value adjustment. The minimum single premium is $2,000 for qualified and $5,000 for non-qualified money. 10% of the accumulated value may be withdrawn after the first policy year. Systematic Withdrawal is an option. There are ten years of surrender charges (12,11.5,11,1.5,10,9,7,5,3,1) that are waived in the event of annuitization after the fifth policy year or death. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty.
