The Rate Certainty 20 is a flexible premium deferred index annuity with a market value adjustment. The minimum premium is $5,000 for qualified and $10,000 for non-qualified money. 10% of the annuity value may be withdrawn at the beginning of the contract year. Systematic Withdrawal is an option. Surrender charges are 10 years in duration and are waived in the event of death, disability, entrance into a nursing home or hospital or diagnosis of a terminal illness. There are two optional riders, which can be added at issue: Lifetime Income Rider with Fixed Rate and Lifetime Income Rider with Fixed Rate Plus Index Credit. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty. Early surrender charges may also apply. Guarantees based on claims paying ability of insurer. Products / features may not be available in all states.
