The Athene Performance Elite 10 Pro Plus is a single premium deferred annuity with a market value adjustment. The minimum single premium is $10,000 for qualified and non-qualified money. 10% of the accumulated value is available in the first contract year without a withdrawal charge or market value adjustment. After the first contract year, the free withdrawal amount is equal to 10% of the accumulated value as of the contract anniversary of the first day of that contract year. Surrender charges are ten years in duration and are waived in the event of death, confinement, or diagnosis of a terminal illness. The Athene Performance Elite 10 Pro Plus has a Liquidity Rider for an extra charge, that contains Enhanced Free Withdrawal amount, Return of Premium Benefit, and additional annuitization options. There is a premium bonus vesting schedule that applies only to surrenders and withdrawals in excess of the free withdrawal amount. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty.
