The Athene Protector 5 is a single premium deferred annuity. The minimum single premium is $10,000 for qualified and non-qualified money ($5,000 in AK, CT, HI, ID, IN, IL, MN, NJ, NV, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, UT and WA). 10% of the accumulated value is available in the first contract year without a withdrawal charge. Surrender charges are five years in duration and are waived in the event of death, confinement, or diagnosis of a terminal illness. There is a bailout feature available should the declared 1-Year PTP strategy annual cap rate fall below the bailout cap rate. There is a Return of Premium feature available for an extra charge. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty. Guarantees based on the claims-paying ability of the insurer. Products/features may not be available in all states.
