The Athene Velocity is a single premium deferred indexed annuity (SPDIA) with a Market Value Adjustment (MVA). Free withdrawals are the max of 10% of the accumulation value or 10% of the initial premium (including premium bonus if applicable) in all years. Withdrawal Charges are ten years in duration and are waived in the event of death, confinement or diagnosis of a terminal illness. There is an optional lifetime income rider which, if elected for an additional cost, provides an option to receive lifetime income withdrawals without incurring withdrawal charges or MVA. There are optional death benefit riders (FER & FER Max) which, if elected at an additional cost, offers a death benefit which guarantees the amount paid to the beneficiaries will be the higher of the contractâs death benefit or enhanced death benefit amount. The Premium Bonus Rider is offered with the Family Endowment Rider (FER) and enhances the accumulation value with a premium enhancement. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty.
