OrionShield 9 is a single premium deferred index annuity with a market value adjustment. This contract includes a 10 days freelook period, or 30 days if contract is issued as a replacement. The minimum single premium is $25,000 for qualified and non-qualified money. After the 1st contract year, up to 10% of account value may be withdrawn without incurrence of any applicable surrender charges or MVA. Minimum contract size is increased to $5,000. Surrender charges are 9 years in duration which may be waived in the event of death. Premium bonus and Guaranteed Accumulation Protection (GAP) are additional benefits included under the contract. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty. Early surrender charges may also apply. Guarantees based on claims paying ability of insurer. Products / features may not be available in all states.
