The Pacific Index Foundation 7-Year is a limited premium deferred annuity with a market value adjustment. The minimum single premium is $25,000 for qualified and non-qualified money. Additional contributions can be made during the first 60 days after the contract issue. 10% of the total purchase payments, less withdrawals, are available in the first contract year with no surrender charge or MVA. For each subsequent contract year, 10% of the contract value as of the prior contract anniversary is available with no surrender charge or MVA. Surrender charges are 7 years in duration and are waived in the event of death, entrance into a nursing home, or diagnosis of a terminal illness and RMDs. There is an optional guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit rider and Interest Enhanced Death Benefit available for an extra cost. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty. For non-qualified contracts, an additional 3.8% tax may apply to net investment income. Guarantees are based on the claims-paying ability of the insurer.
