The Premier Foundation Indexed Annuity is a modified flexible premium deferred index annuity. The minimum single premium is $25,000 for qualified and non-qualified money. Additional premium payments can be made for $1,000 or more. 10% of the contract value (as of the last contract anniversary) may be withdrawn without surrender charges after the first policy year. Surrender charges are eight years in duration, vary by state, and are waived in the event of annuitization, death, or entrance into a hospital or eligible nursing home. There are two optional living benefit riders available for an additional cost: Guaranteed Growth Withdrawal Benefit and Inflation Security Withdrawal Benefit. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal additional tax.
