The Symetra Edge GPS 5 Plus is a single premium deferred indexed annuity with a market value adjustment (MVA). The minimum single premium is $10,000 for qualified and non-qualified money. 10% of the contract value may be withdrawn each year without incurring a surrender charge or MVA. Surrender charges are 5 years in duration (may vary with state availability); and are waived in the event of annuitization, death or entrance into a nursing home or hospital. There is an Enhanced Death Benefit Rider available at contract issue for an additional cost that offers an enhanced death benefit that is payable in place of, not in addition to, the death benefit payable under the contract. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty.
