The Strategic Choice Annuity 7 is a single premium deferred fixed index annuity with a market value adjustment. The minimum initial contribution is $15,000 for qualified and non-qualified funds. 10% of the accumulated value may be withdrawn annually after the first contract year. There are seven years of surrender charges (7%,6%,5%,4%,3%,2%,1%) which may be waived in the event of annuitization, death, entrance into a nursing home or diagnosis of a terminal illness. There is a contract feature available called the Partial Index Credit which allows for an interest rate to be applied to the index interest account (if there were index gains) in the case of certain mid-index-term distribution events, including annuitization, death, nursing home confinement, or a terminal condition. The amount(s) of any surrender paid from the index interest account(s) will be credited with its pro-rata share of interest, subject to any Index Rate Cap or Participation Rate. There is a contract feature available called the Guaranteed Minimum Accumulation Benefit which guarantees that at the beginning of the index term that follows the end of the 7-year Surrender-Charge Period, the annuity fund value is assured to reach the guaranteed minimum accumulation value of 107% of the original premium, net any withdrawals (including applicable charges). Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty. Early surrender charges may also apply. Guarantees based on claims paying ability of insurer. Products / features may not be available in all states.
