The Flex 5 Advantage is a flexible premium deferred annuity. The initial minimum contribution is $300 for both qualified and non-qualified money. 10% of the premium may withdrawn beginning in contract year two without incurring withdrawal charges. Surrender charges are three years in duration and are waived in the event of death. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty.
