The MassMutual Intrepid (Proprietary Bank) is a individual fixed deferred annuity with limited flexible purchase payments. The minimum contribution is $10,000 qualified and non-qualified (60 Days are allowed for all purchase payments to be submitted). An annual 10% free withdrawal of the initial purchase payment is available after the first 30 days of the first contract year. During each subsequent contract year, a free withdrawal of up to 10% of the contract value as of the most recent contract anniversary is available. Systematic withdrawals are an option. Surrender charges vary by rate term chosen and are waived in the event of death, free withdrawals, required minimum distributions, most annuity options, entrance to an nursing home or hospital, or diagnosis of a terminal illness. Withdrawals and taxable distributions may be subject to ordinary income tax and if made prior to age 59 1/2, may also be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty.
