Description:
The American Freedom 10-ST is a single premium deferred annuity. The initial minimum contribution is $10,000 qualified and non-qualified. Additional contributions of $1,000 or more are allowed within the first contract year. Interest may be withdrawn beginning in the first contract year. 10% of the annuity value may be withdrawn beginning in the second contract year. Systematic withdrawals are also an option. Surrender charges vary by state and are waived in the event of annuitization of five years or more, death, entrance into a nursing home or long-term care facility, or diagnosis of a terminal illness as part of the Extended Care and Terminal Illness Waiver. Withdrawals may be subject to Federal/State income tax, and if taken prior to age 59 1/2, a 10% Federal Penalty tax. Guarantees based on claims paying ability of insurer.
