Rider provides a Protected Income Base (PIB) equals to initial Purchase Payment (PP) if rider elected at contract issue. Thereafter, or at the time of transition Initial PIB will be equal to the contract value on the rider effective date and Enhancement Base (EB) will be equal to the PIB on the rider effective date. Rider if transitioned from prior living benefit rider, the prior PIB and EB will be no longer available and prior rider will be terminated. However, to transition from 4Later Advantage (Managed Risk), issuer currently, waives of the waiting term requirements, to cancel the prior rider and elect new rider. PIB, used to determine Guaranteed Income Benefit amount under i4LIFE Advantage Select Guaranteed Income Benefit at later date. Contract owners, electing this rider have an option to later transition of this rider to i4LIFE Advantage Select Guaranteed Income Benefit. PIB is increased by subsequent PP, Enhancements, and AV (Account Value) Step-Ups and decreased by all withdrawals. Maximum PIB is $10 million, including the guaranteed amount under all Living Benefit Riders of all Lincoln Life Contracts, where the owner (and/or the secondary life if joint option) are the covered lives. On each benefit year anniversary, PIB, will be increased by Enhancement Rate of 6% if - 1) contract owner or annuitant is under age 86, 2) if there were no withdrawals in the preceding year, 3) rider is in enhancement period, 4) PIB after the enhancement would be greater than the PIB after the AV step-up; and 5) EB is greater than zero. Enhancement is equal to EB or PIB less PP received after the first 90 days of the rider effective date. Enhancement period is a 10-year period begins on rider date. A new Enhancement Period begins immediately following an AV Step-up. If during any Enhancement Period there are no AV Step-ups, the Enhancements will stop at the end of the Enhancement Period and will not restart until the next Benefit Year anniversary following the Benefit Year anniversary upon which an AV Step-up occurs.
