Benefit protects from poor investment performance during accumulation phase. Benefit base is equal to account value, increased by purchase payments made and reduced for withdrawals. Benefit guarantees that contract value will not be less than benefit base at 7th rider anniversary and on each anniversary thereafter. If contract value is less than benefit base at rider maturity date, Issuer will apply additional amount to increase contract value equal to benefit base. Annuitant may elect automatic enhanced guarantee feature under which, if account value on any rider anniversary exceeds highest existing guarantee by 7% or more, benefit guarantees that such account value will not be any less seven rider anniversaries and each anniversary thereafter.
